Job summary

Worley is seeking a Sr. Director, USA Estimating to lead and optimize our estimating function across the United States. You will shape strategy, govern standards, and drive efficiency with data-driven insights while partnering with Operations, Commercial, and Engineering teams to win major pursuits.

You will mentor Team Leads and senior estimators, advance capability development, and champion a culture of technical excellence and innovation within the estimating organization.

Qualifications

• University degree, or equivalent, in engineering, construction management, quantity surveying, business, project management, or related discipline.
• AACE Certified Estimating Professional, Certified Cost Professional, or comparable certification preferred.
• Formal leadership, management, or business training desirable.
• Working knowledge of estimating classifications, recommended practices, and industry estimating principles.
• Commitment to continuing professional development.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the USA Estimating strategy aligned with business objectives and growth priorities.
• Lead and develop a high-performing estimating organization through Team Leads and senior estimating professionals.
• Establish accountability, collaboration, and performance expectations across the estimating function.
• Represent estimating with senior operations, project delivery, commercial, and business development leadership.
• Own estimating governance, standards, methodologies, and assurance processes across the USA.
• Drive continuous improvement through lessons learned, benchmarking, and quality performance monitoring.
• Develop long-term workforce, succession, recruitment, and capability strategies.
• Build leadership capability and support career progression across estimating disciplines.
• Identify capability gaps and implement plans to meet future business needs.
• Foster a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and professional development.
• Define and execute the estimating technology, data, automation, and innovation roadmap.
• Promote adoption of digital tools, benchmarking systems, analytics, and AI-enabled solutions.
• Improve efficiency, consistency, transparency, and decision-making through technology and data.
• Provide oversight and assurance for strategic pursuits and complex project opportunities.
• Ensure major pursuits have appropriate estimating leadership, resources, methodologies, and review support.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to improve competitiveness and execution certainty.
• Provide independent challenge and escalation where significant estimating risks exist.
• Establish and monitor KPIs for estimating quality, efficiency, and capability.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives and corrective action programs.
• Benchmark estimating practices against industry standards.
