Job description

Position Summary

Leads and develops teams effectively by teaching, training, and actively listening to associates; touring stores and providing feedback; communicating and collaborating with all levels of associates regarding store operations; utilizing technology, business initiatives, merchandising, and company direction; introducing and leading company change efforts; providing clear expectations and guidance to implement business solutions; and communicating business objectives to teams effectively.

Models and demonstrates exceptional customer service standards to store associates by following and demonstrating the One Best Way (OBW) service model; managing and supporting customer service initiatives, including store community and outreach programs; ensuring customer needs, complaints, and issues are successfully resolved; developing and implementing action plans to correct deficiencies; and providing process improvement leadership to ensure a high-quality customer experience.

Drives the financial performance and sales of the designated store area by reviewing and evaluating profit and loss statements; managing budgeting, forecasting, and controlling expenses; monitoring effective merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, inventory flow, and operational processes; and developing and implementing action plans to mitigate shrink and achieve sales and profit goals.

Provides supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates by hiring, training, mentoring, and assigning duties; setting clear expectations; providing recognition; and fostering a sense of belonging in the workplace. Recruits and develops qualified associates to meet staffing needs and support company growth.

Coordinates and oversees job-related activities by developing relationships with key stakeholders; supporting plans to meet customer and business needs; setting and measuring goals; identifying improvement opportunities; and promoting continuous learning and adaptability.

Ensures compliance with company policies and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans; supporting the Open Door Policy; and guiding teams in applying these principles in business practices.

Builds high-performing teams by embracing diversity and creating a culture of belonging, where associates feel supported and valued. Works collaboratively, communicates effectively, and attracts and retains talent. Acts with integrity, maintaining high ethical standards, and supports Walmart's mission of positive community impact.

The hourly wage range for this position is $31.25-$38.46, with additional compensation such as bonuses and location-based pay zones, where applicable.

Minimum Qualifications

Two years of college; OR one year of retail experience and one year of supervisory experience; OR two years of general work experience and one year of supervisory experience. For firearm-selling facilities, successful completion of a firearms-specific Criminal Background Check (CBC) and Firearms Authorized Training is required. Facilities selling only ammunition may require a current state-issued Certificate of Eligibility. Associates must attend and complete all required training and assessments, such as Academy and Open Door trainings.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University; Certificate of Completion in People and Business Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University; experience supervising five or more direct reports, including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.
