Harvey in San Francisco is seeking an experienced US Payroll Manager to lead and scale our US payroll operations amid rapid growth. You’ll thrive in a high-growth startup, stay detail-oriented, and collaborate across People Ops to align payroll with benefits and compliance.

This role requires 6+ years payroll, supervisory experience, and a strong command of Workday HRIS, CPP preferred. You’ll own audits, 401(k) funding, Form 941 filings, and month-end close while protecting data confidentiality

Qualifications

• 6+ years of payroll experience, including supervisory or managerial responsibilities.
• Bachelor's degree (Business or related preferred).
• CPP highly preferred.
• Experience implementing or operating Workday HRIS.
• Experience with payroll accounting, tax, etc.
• Intermediate knowledge of Excel/ Google Sheets.

Responsibilities

• Accurate and timely payroll processing for all employees, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
• Ensure payroll accuracy & timely processing
• Review and approve termination checks
• Collaborate with People Ops to manage payroll components of benefits programs
• Serve as a primary point of contact for Workday enhancements
• Prepare and maintain accurate records for internal and external audits and assist with compliance audits as needed
• Assist with month-end close tasks related to payroll entries
• Lead annual 401k audit and ensure funding recon is completed following each payroll
• Perform quarterly Form 941 filings and state tax reconciliations
