Job summary

Harvey, Inc. is seeking an experienced US Payroll Manager to scale our payroll operations amid rapid growth.

The role requires meticulous detail orientation, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to build scalable processes for a high-growth startup environment. You will own payroll processing, tax filings, and benefits administration in the US across multiple time zones, collaborating with People Ops and Workday enhancements.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of payroll experience, preferably with 2+ years in a supervisory or managerial role.
• Bachelor's degree (Business or related preferred)
• CPP highly preferred
• Experience implementing or operating within a Workday HRIS environment
• Experience with payroll accounting, tax, etc
• Intermediate knowledge of Excel, Google Sheets, etc.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with utmost professionalism.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast- paced environment.
• Problem-solving attitude with the ability to adapt to changing requirements and work under pressure.
• Sense of urgency around the US payroll process and comfort supporting multiple time zones

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced US Payroll Manager to help manage and scale our US payroll operations to meet the tremendous growth of the company. The ideal candidate thrives in a high-growth start-up, is detail-oriented, and has excellent interpersonal and communication skills. This person will be someone who can perform the operational work efficiently while simultaneously building and scaling for future growth.

What You'll Do

• Accurate and timely payroll processing for all employees, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
• Ensure payroll accuracy & timely processing
• Review and approve termination checks
• Collaborate with People Ops to manage the payroll components of employee benefits programs such as health, dental, vision insurance, retirement plans, and other company-sponsored benefits
• Serve as a primary point of contact for Workday enhancements
• Prepare and maintain accurate records for internal and external audits and assist with compliance audits as needed. Ensure the confidentiality and security of data, maintaining data integrity and accuracy of employee records
• Assist with month-end close tasks related to payroll entries
• Lead annual 401k audit and ensure funding recon is completed following each payroll
• Perform quarterly Form 941 filings and state tax reconciliations

What You Have
