Skydio is the leading U.S. drone company and a pioneer in autonomous flight. This role drives the strategic plan to build secure, domestic drone manufacturing and compliant supply chains as part of the SkyForge initiative.

You will spearhead regulatory alignment, onshoring decisions, and supplier development to ensure resilient, cost-effective manufacturing capabilities for critical components in the U.S. market.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in supply chain or operations, including regulated hardware.
• Experience influencing component and supplier selection during design.
• Credibility with sourcing org and factory; discuss capacity and yield.
• Make-versus-buy or vertical integration analysis experience.
• Track record turning technical findings into executive decisions.
• FAA Part 107 certification within 60 days is encouraged for all Skydio employees.

Responsibilities

• Regulatory partner with our regulatory team to understand current regulations and influence policy.
• Determine which capabilities we onshore, vertically integrate or partner to build compliant supply chains.
• Set priorities for securing and onshoring supply across critical commodities with commodity teams.
• Decide whether to develop a supplier, bring work in-house, or design around constraint.
• Make-versus-buy or vertical integration analysis and defend recommendations.
• Maintain live view of compliance risks and translate into schedule, revenue and cost terms for leadership.
