Job summary

Skydio, Inc. is seeking a seasoned Head of Hardware Operations to drive the SkyForge initiative and build a robust, compliant US supply chain.

You will define policy influence, onshore decisions, and supplier development while partnering with Regulatory, Manufacturing, GSMs, and Finance across critical commodities. The role demands 10+ years in regulated hardware environments, strong leadership, and a track record turning findings into executive decisions.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in supply chain, manufacturing operations, commodity management or operations strategy, including at least 3 in a regulated hardware environment.
• Experience influencing component and supplier selection during design, through NPI, design reviews, or SPOR and AVL decisions.
• Credibility with both a sourcing organization and a factory; ability to discuss capacity, tooling and yield.
• Accountable ownership of multi-tier country-of-origin, supplier compliance or trade compliance program.

Responsibilities

• Regulatory, manufacturing and supply-chain strategy for onshore capabilities.
• Onshoring and supplier-development decisions across critical commodities.
• Make-versus-buy and vertical integration recommendations with cross-functional teams.
• Maintain live, evidence-backed view of product regulation impact and budgeting.
• Coordinate with GSMs, hardware engineering, and finance in design reviews.
• Lead multi-tier traceability from BOM to origin and custody.
• Drive opportunities aligning compliance, tariffs and domestic-content goals.
