Job summary

Skydio, Inc. in San Mateo, CA, seeks a Head of Supply Chain & Manufacturing Strategy to lead the strategic plan for onshoring, supplier development and compliant supply chains for domestic drone manufacturing.

You will drive SkyForge initiatives, collaborate with Regulatory and Finance, and define make-vs-buy and vertical integration decisions guiding multi-tier country-of-origin controls.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in supply chain, manufacturing operations, commodity management or operations strategy, including at least 3 years in a regulated hardware environment.
• Experience influencing component and supplier selection during design, through NPI, design reviews, or SPOR decisions.
• Credibility with both a sourcing organization and a factory, able to discuss capacity, tooling and yield.
• Accountable ownership of multi-tier country-of-origin, supplier compliance or trade compliance program.
• A make-versus-buy or vertical integration analysis personally built and defended, including capex and ramp assumptions.

Responsibilities

• Reports to Head of Hardware Operations; individual contributor at hire with potential for growth into a small team.
• Partner with Regulatory, Manufacturing Engineering, GSMs, Program Leads, Trade Compliance and Finance.
• Define onshoring priorities and supplier-development plans to build robust, compliant supply chains.
• Translate regulatory and cost considerations into executable sourcing and manufacturing strategies.
