Job summary

Banner Health's University Medical Center Phoenix Urology Clinic is seeking a Medical Assistant for a full-time, day shift (Mon-Thu, 7am-5:30pm). You will room patients, take vitals, assist with procedures, and update electronic medical records, while supporting administrative tasks as needed.

Uncertified MAs are welcomed with 12 months to become certified; Banner pays for certification study materials and offers tuition assistance for career advancement, with opportunities to progress from PTR

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completed approved medical assistant training program as defined by state regulations.
• Active Medical Assistant Certification (RMA, CMA, CCMA, NCMA) required.
• BLS certification required.
• Ability to work with medical software (EMR) and scheduling tools.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card may be required for certain settings.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for exams by taking vital signs and recording symptoms.
• Assist providers with exams and minor procedures; monitor vital signs.
• Coordinate patient care, referrals, and scheduling; communicate test results.
• Provide clerical support and maintain medical records for billing.
• Maintain clean clinical environment and sterilize equipment.
• Order supplies and manage medication-related tasks.
• Maintain effective communication with patients and staff.
• Complete onboarding and training, including simulations as needed.
• Interact with clinicians, patients, and external providers to support patient care.
