Job summary

Banner University Medical Center Phoenix seeks a Medical Assistant to support clinicians and nursing staff in patient care on a full-time, day-shift schedule. The role includes rooming patients, taking vitals, assisting with procedures, and updating the electronic medical records while coordinating office workflow.

Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED, completed MA training, and active MA certification.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Completion of an approved medical assistant training program as defined by state regulations.
Active Medical Assistant Certification is required (RMA/CMA/CCMA/NCMA).
BLS certification required and maintained.

Responsibilities

Prepare patients for exams by taking vital signs and documenting chief complaints.
Assist with exams and minor procedures, take vitals, phlebotomy, EKGs as needed.
Coordinate patient care, scheduling, referrals, and test results communication.
Maintain complete medical records and support billing documentation.
Keep exam rooms and equipment clean and disinfected.
Order supplies and manage medication inventory per policy.
Communicate with patients, families, and staff to ensure smooth care delivery.
Complete onboarding and simulation training as directed.
Work under supervision of providers and support clinical team.
