Job summary

Cape Cod Healthcare is seeking an Urgent Care Technician (Per Diem) to support the MAC-Stoneman Urgent Care team in Sandwich, MA. You will assist providers and staff, perform intake, vital signs, EKGs, wound care, and point-of-care testing, and help keep exam rooms stocked and organized.

Qualified candidates include MA-licensed CNAs with 1+ year of patient care, EMTs/Paramedics, or Medical Assistants, plus current BLS.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
• Licensed as a CNA in MA with at least one year of patient care experience.
• Licensed as an EMT or Paramedic in MA.
• Previous experience as a Medical Assistant.
• Currently enrolled in an accredited RN program OR Healthcare Track program with at least 2 clinical rotations.
• Has 1-3 years of direct patient care experience within an Urgent Care, Physician’s Office, or Healthcare setting.
• BLS - Current Basic Life Support certification.

Responsibilities

• Participates as a frontline caregiver to patients in Urgent Care.
• Provides direct patient care and collects physical, psychological, and social patient data under the Nurse's direction.
• Assists in direct patient care including vital signs, EKGs, DME application, wound care, point of care testing, and ear irrigations.
• Familiar with equipment in the department and the location of all items.
• Maintains documentation of professional development activities and updates knowledge of techniques and regulations.
• Orient other UC Techs to the unit as assigned by the manager.
• Performs other work-related tasks and activities as assigned by the manager.
• Assist with cleaning and preparation of exam rooms, stocking rooms, and organizing incoming supplies.
• May assist in patient registration, intake, and answering phone calls.
• Perform other duties as requested and provide service excellence to patients, families, visitors, and coworkers.

Purpose of Position : Performs as a member of the Urgent Care Team to assist Providers and staff nurses in providing care to Urgent Care patients in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Description

• Participates as a frontline caregiver to patients in Urgent Care
• Provides direct patient care and collects physical, psychological, and social patient data under the Nurse's direction.
• Assists in direct patient care according to the policy and procedures of Urgent Care. This includes but is not limited to: Complete Intake to include vital signs, EKGs, Durable Medical Equipment application, Wound Care, Point of Care Testing, and Ear Irrigations.
• Is familiar with equipment in the department and the location of all items.
• Assesses personal and learning development needs. Maintains documentation of current and ongoing professional development activities. Regularly updates knowledge of techniques and regulations appropriate to the ages of the patients served.
• Orient other UC Techs to the unit as assigned by the manager.
• Performs other work-related tasks and activities as assigned or requested by the manager.
• Assist with cleaning and preparation of exam rooms as needed including stocking rooms and organization of incoming supplies.
• May assist in patient registration, intake, and answering phone calls at the center.
• Perform other work duties as requested.
• Consistently provides service excellence to all patients, family members, visitors, volunteers and co-workers.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
• Must meet at least one of the following qualifications:
• a. Currently licensed as a CNA in MA with at least one year of patient care experience
• b. Currently licensed as an EMT or Paramedic in MA
• c. Previous experience as a Medical Assistant
• d. Currently enrolled in an accredited RN program OR Healthcare Track program with at least 2 clinical rotations
• e. Has 1-3 years of direct patient care experience within an Urgent Care, Physician’s Office, or Healthcare setting.
• (BLS) - Current Basic Life Support certification

Schedule Details : Per Diem Hours, Rotating Days/Evenings, Every Other Weekend & Occasional Holidays - Must be available to travel to (3) or more UC locations - (Sandwich, Hyannis, Falmouth, Harwich, & Plymouth)
