Job summary

VillageMD is seeking a Scribe Tech to accurately document patient visits into the EMR and assist physicians with basic patient care. You will help direct patient flow, manage labs, and ensure DOH compliance in a fast-paced urgent care setting.

The role offers training, opportunities in CNA/MA pathways, and exposure to a healthcare environment that values compassionate, efficient service. Excellent communication and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required
• Undergraduate degree preferred
• Graduation from an accredited Medical Assisting program and/or phlebotomy certifications a plus but not required
• Training will be provided
• Friendly and professional with excellent bedside manner
• Flexible with full-time work schedule including a weekend day
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
• English language skills required
• High attention to detail
• Must exhibit passion for outstanding results and compassion
• Team player
• Knowledge of third-party payor requirements preferred
• Strong aptitude for detail and ability to work independently
• Strong organizational, problem solving and interpersonal skills
• Computer proficiency

• Bilingual language skills required or preferred based on site
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at hire
• Physical ability to lift light to moderate weight as needed

Responsibilities

• Assist the physician with basic patient care and medical procedures
• Ensure DOH compliance of site lab and exam rooms
• Escort patients to exam rooms, x-rays or other facilities
• Maintain a fast-paced workflow in an urgent care setting (8–12 hour shifts)
• Facilitate diagnostic tests and referrals for follow-up care
• Communicate with patients, pharmacies, and physicians under physician guidance
• Maintain a clean, courteous, and professional working environment
• Ensure the site is fully stocked with supplies
• Provide compassionate care to patients
