Job summary

Summit Health Management in Florham Park, NJ, is seeking a full-time Medical Scribe for a fast-paced urgent care setting. You will assist physicians by documenting patient encounters, coordinating diagnostic tests, and ensuring accurate medical records under supervision.

Ideal candidates hold a high school diploma or GED, and demonstrate excellent bedside manner, verbal and written communication, and a minimum 45 wpm typing speed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Friendly and professional with excellent bedside manner.
• Computer and typing skills required – minimum 45 wpm.
• Flexible with full-time schedule including weekends.
• Passion for helping others in an urgent care environment.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
• High attention to detail and teamwork ability.
• Experience in any service industry a plus.
• Bilingual language skills preferred based on site location.

Responsibilities

• Being able to manage a minimum of two patients per hour on average and a minimum of three to four per hour during surge periods.
• Maintain quick pace in a fast-paced urgent care facility for the duration of scheduled shift (8-12 hours minus meals/breaks).
• Facilitating diagnostic tests (CT, MRI, ultrasounds, etc.) and referrals to medical specialists for follow-up care via Aftercare.
• Providing compassionate care to patients.
• Assisting the physician with basic patient care and medical procedure setup.
• Communicating with patients, pharmacies, and physicians over the phone under physician guidance.
• Maintaining a clean, courteous, and professional working environment.
• Assisting with training and acclimation of new hire scribes.
