Job summary

VillageMD in Elmwood Park, NJ is seeking a Scribe to capture accurate documentation during patient visits, assist physicians with basic care, and help manage patient flow in a fast-paced urgent care setting. Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, fluent English, strong communication and interpersonal skills, and flexible full-time availability including weekends.

BLS certification is required at the time of hire.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or GED; an undergraduate degree is a plus.
• Friendly and professional with excellent bedside manner.
• Flexible with full-time work schedule including a weekend day.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
• English language (speaking and writing) skills required.
• High attention to detail.
• Must exhibit passion for outstanding results and compassion for those we work with and serve.
• Team player.
• Bilingual language skills required or preferred based on-site location.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assisting the physician with basic patient care and medical procedures.
• Ensuring Department of Health (DOH) compliance of site lab and exam rooms.
• Escort patients to exam rooms, x-rays or other facilities on site.
• Ability to maintain quick pace in fast paced urgent care facility for the duration of scheduled shift.
• Facilitating any necessary diagnostic tests and referrals via Aftercare.
• Communicating with patients, pharmacies, and physicians over the phone under physician guidance.
• Helping maintain a clean, courteous, and professional working environment.
• Ensuring the site is fully stocked with supplies.
• Providing compassionate care to our patients.
