Job summary

Duke University Health System—Duke Urgent Care in Durham, NC seeks a Registered Nurse II (RN) for our Floating Urgent Care Pool. Work on-site at our Durham location, providing compassionate nursing care per physician orders and standards. Open 8am–8pm, seven days a week, with relocation assistance available based on eligibility.

Minimum BSN and NC RN licensure required; BLS is mandatory. This role emphasizes independent patient care, supervision of staff, and collaboration across the care team.

Qualifications

• Must graduate from an accredited BSN program.
• Current or compact RN licensure in North Carolina.
• BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Plan, provide, and document professional nursing care per physician orders and policies.
• Delegate tasks and supervise licensed and unlicensed care providers.
• Assist other healthcare personnel in delivering patient care and maintain the environment of care.
• Prioritize work and identify resources to complete care promptly.
• Participate in professional development and maintain competencies.
• Support development of staff and participate in performance improvement activities.
• Perform other related duties incidental to the work described.
