Job summary

Bon Secours in Harrisonburg is seeking a Patient Services Representative (PSR) for Urgent Care to serve as the main contact for patients and the community. You will process referrals, registrations, verify demographics, obtain insurance cards, and update medical records efficiently.

You will schedule appointments, transcribe orders, explain financial options, and maintain accurate records while supporting smooth patient flow and collaboration with care teams.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or GED required.
• Associates Degree in Healthcare or related field preferred.
• Knowledge of medical billing procedures required.
• Medical office software experience required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and basic ICD-9/CPT coding preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and community with respectful, strong customer service.
• Process admission paperwork and basic insurance verification for billing.
• Answer internal and external calls in a friendly and helpful manner.
• Troubleshoot and resolve problems promptly.
• Coordinate bed placement and patient flow; inform supervisor of issues.
