WellNow Urgent Care in Schaumburg, IL is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support front and clinical operations, maintain patient flow, and ensure accurate documentation. You will assist providers, perform phlebotomy if certified, and help with lab processing in a fast-paced urgent care setting.

Qualifications

• 6+ months of experience as a Patient Care Technician or similar role; OR equivalent education/certification in a related healthcare field.
• Preferred experience in Urgent Care, Occupational Medicine, and/or Phlebotomy.
• Ability to use EMR to register patients and document care.
• CPR certification required.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Detail-oriented with accuracy under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Take patient history and vital signs.
• Perform phlebotomy if certified.
• Complete lab paperwork and orders.
• Conduct point-of-care testing (strep, influenza, glucose, UA, etc.).
• Coordinate records for ancillary care and schedule tests.
• Assist providers during exams and testing.
• Maintain patient confidentiality (HIPAA).
• Ensure equipment is functioning and rooms are stocked.
