GoHealth Urgent Care in Torrington, CT is seeking experienced Physician Assistants or Nurse Practitioners with urgent care, emergency room, or high-acute family medicine experience to join our diverse provider community. Per diem position with market-leading compensation and benefits, including CME, licenses, and tuition support.

Responsibilities include examining and treating patients of all ages, ordering tests, diagnosing, prescribing meds, and providing patient education.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required for Physician Assistants
• Master's Degree required for Nurse Practitioners
• One year of full-time experience in Emergency Medicine or Urgent Care required (2 years Family Medicine may be considered)

Functioning in lieu of or alongside of a physician, it is essential for an urgent care Advanced Practitioner to have excellent assessment skills in order to recognize more serious conditions and direct the patient to the emergency room for advanced care when necessary.**Job Requirements**Education* Bachelor's Degree*required for Physician Assistants** Master's Degree *required for Nurse Practitioners*Work Experience* One (1) year of full-time experience in Emergency Medicine or One (1) year of Urgent Care setting experience required. Will consider 2 years of Family Medicine experience.Required Licenses/Certifications* National Certification* Active state medical licensureAdditional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities* Work experience in an Urgent Care or Emergency Room setting preferred* Applicable office procedures including but not limited to suturing, splinting, casting etc.* Preliminary reads on EKGs and X-rays required.* Experience treating patients ages 6 months and up in an acute care setting required.Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Preferred* Knowledge and experience with Electronic Medical Records* Ability to be attentive with strong listening skills* Strong communication and customer service skillsEssential Functions*Essential functions are those tasks, duties and responsibilities that comprise the means of accomplishing the job’s purpose and objectives.
