Job summary

Hartford HealthCare-GoHealth Urgent Care seeks experienced Physician Assistants or Nurse Practitioners to treat adults and children in urgent care settings. You will work under supervision, handling acute conditions with strong assessment and decision-making skills.

Positions offer a generous compensation package with benefits, CME time and budget, licensure reimbursement, tuition assistance, and paid time off.

Qualifications

• National Certification required.
• Active state medical licensure required.
• Experience in urgent care or emergency room settings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Examine and treat patients in urgent care settings.
• Take medical histories and perform physical assessments.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests and X-rays.
• Make diagnoses and prescribe medications accordingly.
• Educate and counsel patients; vaccinate when indicated.
• Refer patients to ED for advanced care as needed.

Functioning in lieu of or alongside of a physician, it is essential for an urgent care Advanced Practitioner to have excellent assessment skills in order to recognize more serious conditions and direct the patient to the emergency room for advanced care when necessary.Job RequirementsEducationBachelor's Degree required for Physician AssistantsMaster's Degree required for Nurse PractitionersWork ExperienceOne (1) year of full-time experience in Emergency Medicine or One (1) year of Urgent Care setting experience required.
