Qualifications

• 1 year of full-time experience in Emergency Medicine or Urgent Care setting preferred
• Treating both adult and pediatric patients in acute care environments
• Active state medical licensure is required for practice

Responsibilities

• Examine and treat patients and obtain medical histories
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests and X-rays
• Prescribe medications and manage minor injuries
• Educate and counsel patients and families
• Work eight to twelve hour shifts as scheduled

The salary range is based on .9 - 1.0 FTE and will be adjusted proportionally based on the approved FTE.Job SummaryUrgent care Advanced Practitioners (Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner) provide a wide variety of clinical services including treatment of acute episodic conditions such as sore throats, colds, flu-like symptoms, cuts, sprains and minor infections. Functioning in lieu of or alongside of a physician, it is essential for an urgent care Advanced Practitioner to have excellent assessment skills in order to recognize more serious conditions and direct the patient to the emergency room for advanced care when necessary.Job RequirementsEducationBachelor's Degree required for Physician AssistantsMaster's Degree required for Nurse PractitionersWork ExperienceOne (1) year of full-time experience in Emergency Medicine or One (1) year of Urgent Care setting experience required.
