Hartford HealthCare-GoHealth Urgent Care in Avon, CT seeks experienced Physician Assistants or Nurse Practitioners for urgent care with sign-on bonus. Roles include evaluating and treating acute conditions in both adults and children, ordering tests, prescribing medications, and coordinating care with a physician as needed.

Candidate must have a Bachelor's for PAs or a Master's for NPs, plus 1 year of urgent care or emergency medicine experience and active state licensure.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required for Physician Assistants.
• Master's degree required for Nurse Practitioners.
• One year of full-time Emergency Medicine or Urgent Care experience required; two years in Family Medicine considered.
• National Certification and active state medical licensure required.
• Experience treating both adult and pediatric patients in acute care settings.
• Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records preferred.

Responsibilities

• Examine and treat patients, obtain medical histories, and order diagnostic tests.
• Make diagnoses and prescribe medications, manage minor injuries.
• Record progress notes and educate patients; Vaccinations and referrals as needed.
• Support suturing, splinting, casting; interpret basic imaging as appropriate.
• Work shifts of eight to twelve hours with a provider team; maintain patient flow.

Functioning in lieu of or alongside of a physician, it is essential for an urgent care Advanced Practitioner to have excellent assessment skills in order to recognize more serious conditions and direct the patient to the emergency room for advanced care when necessary.**Job Requirements****Education**Bachelor's Degree required for Physician AssistantsMaster's Degree required for Nurse Practitioners**Work Experience**One (1) year of full-time experience in Emergency Medicine or One (1) year of Urgent Care setting experience required.
