Job summary

AMN Healthcare is seeking an Urgent Care NP or PA for locum tenens coverage in Virginia. The assignment runs 3 days per week, 8 AM–8 PM, with credentialing expected within 60–90 days. Expect a broad outpatient role including suturing, I&D, foreign body removal, minor burn care, and basic imaging interpretation.

Locum providers receive malpractice insurance and a dedicated coordination team to handle travel, lodging, and logistics, along with competitive hourly pay and comprehensive support.

Qualifications

• VA license required
• Credentialing timeframe: 60–90 days
• Schedule: 3 days/week 8A-8P in urgent care setting
• Outpatient practice with broad scope including suturing/I&D and minor procedures

Responsibilities

• Perform urgent care procedures including laceration repair, I&D, foreign body removal, minor burn care, and wound care
• Stabilize and manage orthopedic and other injuries as needed
• Interpret basic imaging and ECG in an outpatient setting
• Collaborate with credentialing team to complete licensing and hospital privileges

This facility is seeking Nurse Practitioner and Physician Assistant Urgent Care for locum tenens support as they look to fill a current need.

Details and requirements for this opportunity:

• Schedule: 3 days/week as soon as credentialed until perm is hired: 8A-8P
• Patients per day: patient population is birth to death and can vary from clinic to clinic, day by day
• Practice Setting: Outpatient
• Scope: Laceration Repair: Simple, intermediate, and complex suturing or stapling, Incision and drainage (I&D): including packing, Foreign Body Removal, Minor Burn Management, Skin Lesion Care, Orthopedic & Injury Stabilization, Splinting & Casting, Joint Reduction, Diagnostic & Point-of-Care Testing, X-Ray Interpretation, Electrocardiogram (EKG)
• State Licensure: VA License required
• Credentialing timeframe: 60-90 days
