Job summary

Carbon Health is seeking a Medical Assistant in a fast-paced, paperless urgent care setting in New Jersey. You will take vitals, room patients, assist with procedures and support DOT certification training as needed.

The role requires a high school diploma, MA certification, current BLS, and a willingness to obtain DOT certification. Experience with phlebotomy and strong communication are preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification from an accredited Medical Assistant program; exemption possible by law with experience/diploma/national certification.
• Current BLS certification, willingness to obtain DOT certification.
• 1+ years experience as a Medical Assistant preferred.
• Phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Great communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Take vitals, patient history and triage.
• Assist with procedures such as incision and drainage, lacerations and wound care.
• Administer medications via intradermal, intramuscular and subcutaneous routes, perform ear lavages and run EKGs.
• Conduct lab tests such as urinalysis, pregnancy tests, blood glucose testing, monospot, rapid strep and influenza testing, rapid HIV testing.
• Manage the front desk and perform receptionist duties as needed.
• Attend training to obtain DOT certification for Urine Drug Screens and Breath Alcohol Tests.
