Job summary

Carbon Health in Marlboro, NJ seeks an Urgent Care Medical Assistant to support providers in a fast-paced walk‑in clinic. This full‑time role handles direct patient care, assists with procedures, and helps with documentation to keep patient flow efficient.

You will greet patients, obtain vitals, perform phlebotomy and injections, run EKGs, manage records, answer calls, and help with safety and infection control. 12‑hour shifts and DOT cert training included.

Qualifications

• 1 year minimum experience as Medical Assistant or similar in urgent care or ambulatory setting.
• Current CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA certification and CPR/BLS required.
• Proficient venipuncture and phlebotomy technique.
• Experience performing injections, including vaccines and medications.
• Ability to perform quality EKGs with proper lead placement.
• Strong patient care and confidential medical records handling.
• Willing to work 12-hour shifts (7:45 a.m. – 8:00 p.m.) including weekends.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients, room them, and document vitals and histories in the medical record system.
• Perform blood draws, injections, and EKGs per provider orders.
• Prepare exam rooms and maintain infection control standards.
• Support providers during examinations and procedures.
• Manage medical records and test results with accuracy.
• Answer phones and route messages professionally.
• Coordinate patient flow to minimize wait times with staff and front desk.
• DOT training for Urine Drug Screens and Breath Alcohol Tests.
