Job summary

Ascension Saint Thomas Urgent Care seeks experienced Medical Assistants to support Mt. Juliet, Donelson, Gallatin, and Hermitage clinics in Tennessee.

You will perform clinical tasks in urgent care, occupational health, and workers’ compensation settings, including patient intake, vital signs, and phlebotomy under provider supervision. Full-time team members work a rotating 36-40 hour week with 12-hour weekday shifts and every-other weekend; PRN roles are available as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS certification is required.
• CMA credential preferred.
• Experience performing X-Rays is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients promptly and provide clear communication about next steps and wait times
• Offer solutions to patient concerns and seek help in emergent or hazardous situations
• Ensure timely follow-up for lab and x-ray results; execute follow-up calls with urgency
• Support front desk staff with check-in and check-out procedures when needed
• Accurately document vital signs, histories, medications, allergies, and other pertinent details
• Assist with patient transfers, procedures, and lab work under provider supervision
• Prepare and shoot X-Rays, ensuring proper positioning, safety, radiation protection, and shielding
• Complete all required visit documentation and maintain stocked, clean exam rooms
• Adhere to infection control, safety, and patient confidentiality standards
• Perform phlebotomy, injections, and other clinical procedures as trained and directed

Education

High school diploma or equivalent

BLS Certification

Certified Medical Assistant (preferred)

X-Ray experience desirable
