Job summary

GoHealth Urgent Care is seeking a Per Diem Medical Assistant in North East, MD. You will assist in examinations, manage check-in, take vitals, draw blood, and support urgent care operations under the supervision of a provider.

Requirements include a High School Diploma, preferred Medical Assisting Program completion, BLS at hire, and MA certifications or acceptable nursing licensure. Strong computer skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication are expected.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Graduate of Medical Assisting Program preferred.
• BLS certification required at time of hire.
• Certification options CCMA, CMA, RMA, NCMA, NRCMA or approved nursing licensure; CPOE certification required within two weeks of start.

Responsibilities

• Register patients, obtain insurance information and verify eligibility.
• Process co-pays and schedule patient appointments.
• Coordinate referrals to Specialists and answer patient questions.
• Perform vital signs and point-of-care testing (e.g., flu, strep, urinalysis).
• Maintain exam rooms, front desk, and stock medical supplies; manage medical records.
