Job summary

Carbon Health in Santa Monica, CA is hiring an Urgent Care Medical Assistant for per diem coverage. You will take vitals, triage patients, assist with urgent procedures, and perform routine lab tests while supporting front desk operations.

The role requires a Medical Assistant program certification, BLS, and DOT willingness; 1+ year experience is preferred. Per diem schedule and competitive hourly pay offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Current BLS certification; willingness to obtain DOT certification.
• 1+ years experience as a Medical Assistant preferred.
• Phlebotomy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform patient care by taking vitals and patient history; triage.
• Assist with procedures such as incision and drainage, lacerations, wound care.
• Administer medications via intradermal, intramuscular and subcutaneous routes; conduct ear lavages; run EKGs.
• Conduct lab tests (urinalysis, pregnancy test, glucose, rapid tests).
• Manage front desk and receptionist duties as needed.
• Complete training and obtain DOT certification for urine drug screens and breath alcohol tests.
