Job summary

Carbon Health is seeking an Urgent Care Medical Assistant to join our per diem team in Pasadena. The role includes taking vitals, rooming patients, assisting with procedures, and front desk duties in a fast-paced, paperless clinic.

You should have a high school diploma, Medical Assistant certification, current BLS, and willingness to obtain DOT certification; 1+ year experience preferred; phlebotomy experience is a plus. Per diem scheduling includes weekdays, weekends and some holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Current BLS certification and willingness to obtain DOT certification.
• 1+ years of Medical Assistant experience preferred.
• Phlebotomy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Take vitals, patient history and triage.
• Assist with procedures such as incision and drainage, lacerations and wound care.
• Administer meds via intradermal, intramuscular and subcutaneous routes; perform ear lavages and EKGs.
• Conduct urinalysis, urine pregnancy tests, blood glucose, Monospot, rapid strep and influenza tests; rapid HIV testing.
• Manage front desk and receptionist duties as needed.
• Complete training and become certified with the DOT for Urine Drug Screens and Breath Alcohol Tests.
