Job summary

Carbon Health is seeking an Urgent Care Medical Assistant to support a fast-paced, paperless clinic. The role involves taking vitals, rooming patients, assisting with procedures, and managing front desk tasks in a patient-centered environment.

This per diem position requires a high school diploma, MA certification, current BLS, and a willingness to obtain DOT certification. Prior MA and phlebotomy experience are preferred; benefits include health coverage, 401k, PTO, and DOT reimbursement.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification from an accredited Medical Assistant program (except in locations where exempt with experience/diploma and/or national certification).
• Current BLS certification, willingness to obtain DOT certification.
• 1+ years experience as a Medical Assistant preferred.
• Phlebotomy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Take vitals, patient history, and triage.
• Assist with procedures such as incision and drainage, lacerations and wound care.
• Administer medications via intradermal, intramuscular, and subcutaneous routes; perform ear lavages and run EKGs.
• Conduct lab testing such as urinalysis, pregnancy test, blood glucose testing, monospot, rapid strep and influenza testing, and rapid HIV testing.
• Manage the front desk and perform receptionist duties as needed.
• Complete training to become DOT-certified for Urine Drug Screens and Breath Alcohol Tests.
