American Family Care (AFC) seeks a Medical Assistant to join our Marlborough, MA clinic. The role blends clinical care, patient service, and front-desk responsibilities, including vitals, venipuncture, and insurance eligibility verification to ensure accurate billing and smooth center operations.

Ideal candidates have completed an accredited Medical Assistant program, hold a national MA certification, and have at least 1 year of related experience.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Active national MA certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or equivalent) at hire.
• Experiencewith insurance verification and patient registration.

Responsibilities

• Greet and triage patients, collect vitals and histories, perform venipuncture and CLIA-waived testing.
• Register patients, verify insurance eligibility, determine financial responsibility, collect co-pays, and ensure EMR accuracy.
• Educate patients on procedures and financial expectations, provide discharge instructions, and maintain patient communication with empathy.
• Support daily operations through huddles, compliance logs, and HIPAA standards.
