Job summary

American Family Care (AFC) is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our urgent care team. You will greet patients, triage, take vitals, perform venipuncture and point-of-care testing, and support front-desk/insurance verification.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Active national MA certification (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or equivalent).

Responsibilities

• Greet and triage patients, take vitals, venipuncture, and CLIA-waived testing.
• Handle front-desk tasks including insurance verification and registration.
• Educate patients on procedures and discharge instructions with empathy.
• Maintain compliance logs and support infection-control and HIPAA standards.
