Qualifications

• Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program preferred.
• 1+ years of Medical Assistant experience under licensed supervision preferred within last 3 years.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• BLS certification required at time of hire (ARC or AHA).
• Certification options: CCMA, CMA, RMA, NCMA, NRCMA, WA/CA MA credentials as applicable.

Responsibilities

• Register patients, collect paperwork and verify insurance eligibility.
• Process co-pays and schedule appointments for the center.
• Coordinate referrals to specialists.
• Answer patient questions and keep them informed of status.
• Inform technical staff about patient flow and needs.
• Prepare patients for exam and collect medical history.
• Perform basic vital signs and escalate urgent cases to provider.
• Conduct point-of-care tests (flu, strep, urinalysis, ECG, hCG).
• Stock supplies and maintain exam rooms and front desk areas.
• Maintain supply inventory and check expirations.
• Maintain medical records and scan charts.
• Answer phones and manage daily mail.
• Assist with opening and closing duties including cash handling.
• Follow QA logs and document equipment maintenance.
