Job summary

GoHealth Urgent Care is seeking a Medical Assistant to support both clinical and front desk operations across multiple Virginia locations. You will register patients, document medical history, collect vital signs, perform point‑of‑care testing, and assist with specimen handling to ensure smooth patient flow.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of MA experience, BLS certification, and a willingness to obtain MA certification within 12 months if not already certified.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Minimum of 1 year Medical Assistant experience.
• BLS certification required at time of hire per AHA/ARC.
• Graduate of Medical Assisting program preferred.
• Certification within 12 months of hire if not certified at start.

Responsibilities

• Register patients and collect demographics, insurance, and eligibility.
• Process co-pays and assist with scheduling.
• Prepare patients for examination and document medical history.
• Measure vital signs and perform point-of-care testing as needed.
• Draw blood and prepare specimens for labs.
• Restock exam rooms and maintain inventory.
• Support front desk duties and patient communication.
• Follow safety and clinical policies; perform opening/closing duties.
