Hartford HealthCare-GoHealth Urgent Care is seeking a Medical Assistant to support urgent care providers in patient examinations and procedures in our Hartford, CT centers. The role includes registering patients, taking vital signs, collecting specimens, and performing point-of-care testing to support efficient patient flow.

The ideal candidate will have a Medical Assisting program credential, BLS, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Graduate of a Medical Assisting Program preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required at time of hire.

Responsabilités

• Register patients and verify insurance and eligibility.
• Process co-pays and schedule appointments.
• Perform vital signs and basic clinical measurements.
• Conduct point-of-care testing (e.g., flu, strep, urinalysis).
• Assist with specimen collection and prepare samples for lab analysis.
• Maintain exam rooms, equipment, and supplies.
• Maintain medical records and charts.
• Answer calls and manage correspondence.
• Open/close duties including cash handling and security.
