Job summary

NextCare Urgent Care in Oklahoma seeks a motivated Medical Assistant to join a fast-paced team. You will assist providers with exams, perform blood draws, collect specimens, and support front office tasks while maintaining patient-centric care.

The role emphasizes EMR/EHR proficiency, adherence to safety protocols, and collaboration with clinicians to ensure smooth patient flow in a busy urgent care setting.

Qualifications

• Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent.
• Completed an approved (accredited) Medical Assistant training program.
• National certifications (CMA/CCMA/RMA) are acceptable options or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist provider with exams including patient vitals and procedures under supervision.
• Administer medications per policy and provider direction; follow safety protocols for med administration.
• Perform blood draws and collect urine samples for testing as directed.
• May perform splinting, casting, and sports physicals as part of urgent care duties.
• Provide front office support: communicate with patients, manage wait times, and assist with discharge processing.
• Ensure proficiency with EMR/EHR and maintain accurate patient records.
• Support routine laboratory testing, quality control, and adherence to policies.
