Job summary

NextCare Urgent Care is seeking an energetic Medical Assistant to support fast-paced clinical operations. The role involves direct patient care, vitals collection, medication administration, blood draws, and collaboration with providers in a team-driven setting.

You will perform specimen collection, assist with physicals, and help ensure patient flow and safety in a busy urgent care clinic. Proficiency in EMR/EHR and adherence to safety policies are essential.

Qualifications

• Education: Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent; AND Completed an APPROVED (accredited) Medical Assistant training program.
• Education: National certification via CMA/AMT/CCMA or equivalent may be required depending on state.

Responsibilities

• Assists provider with exams and patient care under supervision.
• Administers medications per policy and safety protocols.
• Performs blood draws as directed by the Provider.
• May perform urine collection for testing.
• May assist with splinting and casting.
• Conducts sports physicals and other urgent care duties.
• Notifies provider and clinic manager of safety concerns and medication events.
• Proficient in EMR/EHR and lab procedures.
