Qualifikationen

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Current Medical Assistant certification preferred or required based on state and organizational requirements.
• Experience in Urgent Care, Emergency Medicine, or outpatient clinic setting is preferred.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain as required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, vital signs, clinical procedures, and basic patient care.
• Experience with phlebotomy, injections, EKGs, specimen collection, and point-of-care testing is preferred.
• Familiarity with EMR and clinical documentation.
• Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking skills.
• Ability to work efficiently and remain calm in a fast-paced clinical environment.
• Ability to recognize priorities and escalate urgent patient care concerns appropriately.
• Professionalism, compassion, empathy, and patient-first mindset.
• Attention to detail and compliance in documentation and processes.

Aufgaben

• Welcome patients and provide a warm, professional experience throughout their visit.
• Room patients efficiently, document vital signs, review medications and medical history.
• Assist providers with examinations, minor procedures, and clinical treatments.
• Perform injections, EKGs, point-of-care testing, specimen collection, and phlebotomy within scope.
• Support rapid diagnostic testing including urinalysis and glucose testing.
• Assist with wound care, splinting, and dressing changes as trained.
• Maintain EMR documentation accurately and timely.
• Monitor patient flow and communicate wait times to patients and team.
• Support referrals, follow-up instructions, and post-visit care coordination.
• Ensure exam rooms and equipment are clean, stocked, and compliant with infection control.
