Job summary

Ascension Saint Thomas Urgent Care in Murfreesboro, TN, is hiring experienced Medical Receptionists to greet patients, activate patient files, and support staff. The role includes checking in/out patients, handling phones, and processing payments.

A high school diploma and familiarity with EMR software are expected. The position offers a full-time schedule with rotating 36–40 hour weeks, including 12-hour shifts and every-other weekend.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to learn electronic medical records
• Prior experience in a medical office setting preferred

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and visitors, assist with registration, and direct through the process
• Answer multi-line phones, file, fax, scan documents, and complete patient callbacks
• Check in and discharge patients, assist clinical staff, and close the office at shift end
• Collect insurance information, verify demographics, process payments, post balances, and complete phone sheets
• Maintain a neat, professional appearance and environment
• Follow health and safety procedures
