Job summary

Sarasota Memorial Health Care System is seeking an Outpatient Service Rep III to join our urgent care team in Florida. You will interact with patients, collect financial and insurance information, verify authorizations, and route calls while maintaining confidentiality and strong customer service standards.

The role supports scheduling, benefits verification, and obtaining necessary authorizations across seven urgent care locations. A positive attitude and ability to multitask are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two (2) years of experience in a customer service setting.
• HS EQ: High School Diploma, GED or Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and conducts daily interactions with a positive attitude.
• Interviews patients to obtain complete financial and insurance information.
• Verifies authorizations and answers telephone inquiries, routing calls appropriately.
• Acts as liaison between facility, physician, insurer and other healthcare agencies.
• Handles patient collections at registration.
• Maintains strict confidentiality of patient information.
• Schedules appointments and procedures, verifies benefits and obtains necessary authorizations.
• May assume supervisory role in absence of the office manager and provides strong customer service.
