Job summary

Sarasota Memorial Health Care System in Venice, FL is hiring an Outpatient Service Representative III for our urgent care and outpatient sites. You will greet patients, collect financial and insurance information, verify authorizations, and route calls while upholding our mission and values.

This role requires at least two years in customer service, a high school diploma or equivalent, and the ability to work across multiple locations.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of experience in a customer service setting.
• High School Diploma, GED or Certificate (HS EQ).

Responsibilities

• Greets patients and conducts daily interactions with a positive attitude.
• Professionally interviews patients obtaining complete and accurate financial and insurance information.
• Verifies required authorizations and answers the telephone, routing calls appropriately.
• Acts as a liaison between the facility, physician, insurance company and other healthcare agencies.
• Handles collections of monies from patients at the time of registration.
• Observes confidentiality in dealing with patient information.
• Schedules patient appointments and procedures, verifies benefits and obtains authorization for visits and procedures.
• Capable of assuming supervisory role in absence of office manager and excels in customer service.
