Job summary

Carbon Health Federal Way, Washington invites applications for an Urgent Care Fellow. This program welcomes recent NP or PA graduates to gain hands-on experience in acute care medicine within a physician-led team using our custom EHR and collaborative model.

Fellow will engage in supervised clinical shifts, learn diagnostic and procedural skills, and prepare for independent practice. Compensation starts at $104,000 annually with comprehensive benefits, and both full-time and part-time tracks may

• Physician Assistant: Medical/Master’s degree with a valid state license and national certification.
• Nurse Practitioner: RN license, NP certification, and a valid state license.
• Must be willing to obtain DOT certification prior to start date.
• Willingness to obtain BLS certification prior to employment start

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional treatment and collaborative care within urgent care.
• Order and interpret x-rays, labs and EKGs.
• Triage and manage patients efficiently to minimize wait times.
• Perform digital blocks, regional anesthesia, and minor procedures.
• Perform closed reductions of simple fractures and related skills
• Apply and modify braces and orthopedic appliances

What You'll Learn

• Provide exceptional treatment, collaborative care options (within the scope of urgent care), including physical examinations, assessments, diagnosis and treatment
• Order and interpret x-rays, lab results and EKGs
• Triage and manage patients thoroughly and efficiently, maintaining a steady flow to avoid long wait times
• Perform digital blocks and regional anesthesia, and minor surgical procedures, such as wound closure and management, I&D, foreign body removal
• Perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, such as aspirations and injection of joints, bursas, and cysts
• Perform closed reductions of simple fractures or dislocations of fingers/toes, including nursemaid’s elbow reductions
• Apply and modify braces, splints, and other orthopedic appliances

About You

• Physician Assistant: Medical/Master’s degree with a valid state license and national certification
• Nurse Practitioner: RN license, NP certification, and a valid state license
• Must be willing to obtain DOT certification prior to start date
• Willingness to obtain BLS certification prior to employment start
