Job summary

Bon Secours in Winchester Gateway seeks a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) for our Urgent Care team. The CMA provides direct and indirect patient care under the provider’s supervision, records patient information, measures vitals, and assists with exams and procedures.

Requires High School/GED and completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program (South Carolina exceptions noted). Externship or clinical training and 1 year of MA experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• High School/GED required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program (preferred in most states).
• Active MA certification is required from an approved body (CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA/etc.).

Responsibilities

• Record patients' medical history and vitals in medical records.
• Interview patients to obtain information and measure vital signs.
• Prepare and administer medications as directed by a physician.
• Assist in exams and diagnostic procedures; call for supplies as needed.
• Provide patient education and discharge instructions.
