Job summary

Legacy-GoHealth Urgent Care in Oregon is seeking an experienced Urgent Care Advanced Practitioner (PA/NP) to provide a wide range of clinical services for acute conditions, work in collaboration with physicians, and guide patients to appropriate care when needed. The role requires rigor in clinical assessments, state licensure, national certification, and pediatric/adult patient care experience.

• National certification required for PA/NP practice.
• Active state medical licensure in Oregon or eligible to obtain.
• Experience in Urgent Care or Emergency Department preferred.
• Strong pediatric and adult clinical care experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Examining and treating patients in urgent care settings.
• Taking medical histories and performing physical assessments.
• Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests and imaging.
• Diagnosing and prescribing medications, including minor procedures.
• Vaccinations, education, and referrals as appropriate.

Functioning in lieu of or alongside of a physician, it is essential for an urgent care Advanced Practitioner to have excellent assessment skills in order to recognize more serious conditions and direct the patient to the emergency room for advanced care when necessary.Job RequirementsEducation· Bachelor's Degree required for Physician Assistants· Master's Degree required for Nurse PractitionersWork Experience· 2-5 years of post-residency clinical experience required· Minimum 18 months experience in applicable practice setting required· Adult and pediatric practice experience strongly preferredRequired Licenses/Certifications· National Certification· Active state medical licensureAdditional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required· Work experience in an Urgent Care or Emergency Room setting· Applicable office procedures including but not limited to suturing, splinting, etc.Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Preferred· Knowledge and experience with Electronic Medical Records· Ability to be attentive with strong listening skills· Strong communication and customer service skillsEssential FunctionsEssential functions are those tasks, duties and responsibilities that comprise the means of accomplishing the job’s purpose and objectives.
