Job summary

Frederick Health Medical Group (FHMG) is seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (APP) – Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant – to join our Urgent Care team. This role focuses on delivering timely, high-quality care for acute illnesses and minor injuries in a fast-paced setting, while collaborating with a dedicated care team.

The APP will evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients, perform procedures within scope, and ensure smooth patient flow with emphasis on evidence-based practice

Qualifications

• Experience in Urgent Care or Emergency Medicine or Primary Care.
• Active Maryland nursing license or PA license eligibility.
• Current BLS certification.
• DEA and Maryland CDS licenses in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute illnesses and minor injuries in urgent care.
• Perform focused exams, order labs/imaging, and develop treatment plans.
• Perform common urgent care procedures within scope (e.g., wound care, suturing).
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and staff to ensure efficient patient flow.
• Provide patient education, discharge instructions, and follow-up care.
• Document care accurately in the EMR and adhere to quality standards.
