Job summary

HNTB is seeking a Planner I for Summer 2027 to join our Integrated Planning Solutions team. The role involves gathering data, analyzing planning scenarios, and producing maps, exhibits, and reports to support transportation projects.

You’ll work with inter-disciplinary teams from concept development to completion, applying planning strategies and communicating findings through visuals and documentation. A Bachelor’s degree is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in urban planning, geography, engineering, or related field.
• Proficiency in GIS software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to compile and summarize data and contribute to reports.
• Interest or experience in traffic modeling encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Researches and collects raw data, organizes, analyzes and reviews for use in projects.
• Performs project analysis using technical guidance and software.
• Assists team with development of maps, exhibits, presentation materials, and reporting.
• Researches issues, policies, and concepts related to planning and develops alternates.
• Prepares plans, studies, reports, and environmental documents for projects.
• Assists in stakeholder and public participation processes.
• Maintains records and files related to projects.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
