Job summary

Allentown School District seeks an Elementary Principal to lead a diverse school community in Allentown, PA. The role requires a Master's in educational leadership and PA certification, with 5+ years of public education experience.

The ideal candidate will drive instructional improvement, data-informed decisions, and community partnerships. Strong knowledge of PA standards-based curricula and urban administration is preferred.

Qualifications

• Master's degree with a major in educational leadership, educational supervision, or a related field.
• Valid and active PA Certification as an Elementary Principal.
• Five (5) or more years experience in public education, including elementary or secondary instruction.
• Skillfully utilize technology and software programs typically used in school administration.
• Demonstrated success in turning around low performing schools and/or underperforming students. Urban schools preferred.
• Demonstrated knowledge of a standards-based curriculum required in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
• Experience in Urban Administration preferred.
• Satisfactory work record & criminal/child abuse clearances (Acts 34, 114, and 151).
• To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Responsibilities

• Data-driven decision-making – identify, analyze, and use key metrics to guide teacher quality and interventions.
• Establish clear approaches to measuring student growth and track progress for college readiness.
• Lead in implementing a comprehensive instructional improvement system.
• Regularly review student performance data to assess interventions for at-risk students.
• Provide supervision, leadership, and evaluation of professional staff as designated by the Superintendent.
• Inspire and influence others to meet the needs of urban school students and communicate with stakeholders.
• Collaborate with Central Administration to align district and school programming.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, customer service, and high expectations across staff and students.
