Job summary

Southern Methodist University in Dallas is seeking an On-campus Upward Bound Coordinator to work with local high schools in SMU College Access. You will provide advising, mentoring, and career coaching to students, while building partnerships with schools and recruiting participants for the program.

The role emphasizes developing and delivering academic enrichment, managing eligibility and Summer Melt activities, and supporting students’ transition to college.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum of two years in education, social work, human services, counseling or related field.
• Experience with youth programs and TRIO programs preferred.
• Fluency in written and spoken Spanish.
• Valid Texas driver’s license; ability to complete driving course.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with data management systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide advising, mentoring, and career coaching to Upward Bound students.
• Develop partnerships with area high schools and manage recruitment for assigned schools.
• Deliver academic enrichment programs to help students transition to college.
• Coordinate Summer Melt activities and provide outreach to students and families.
• Assist with eligibility verification and program operations.
