Job summary

RT Specialty, LLC Houston seeks an energy underwriter to manage a portfolio with focus on upstream Oil & Gas risks. Under supervision of senior underwriters, you will analyze submissions, reviews, and pricing under delegated authority to support profitable growth.

The role requires 2+ years of commercial underwriting experience in Energy, a related bachelor's degree, and licenses. You will collaborate with brokers, maintain documentation, and stay current on market trends.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent industry experience.
• 2+ years of commercial underwriting experience in Energy preferred.
• Ability to obtain/state Property & Casualty licenses; pursuing CPCU/ARM/AU/AINS is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support underwriting of new and renewal Energy business, focusing on upstream Oil & Gas.
• Review submissions, loss runs, engineering reports to assess risk quality.
• Assist in pricing, coverage terms, and limits under authority guidelines.
• Collaborate with brokers to gather information and issue quotes.
• Maintain underwriting documentation and ensure regulatory compliance.
