Job summary

Miltenyi Biotec in Gaithersburg, MD is hiring a Process Development Associate II (Upstream) to support development, characterization, and tech transfer of processes for purified Lentiviral vectors used in pre-clinical and clinical gene therapy products.

The role applies cell culture experience to production and characterization using adherent and suspension platforms, enabling successful tech transfer and manufacturing readiness in a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• BS in life sciences or engineering with minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
• Biotech industry experience in gene therapy or virology preferred.
• Experience with adherent and/or suspension mammalian cell culture and viral vector production.
• Experience with stirred-tank bioreactors and single-use systems preferred.
• Familiarity with DO/pH control loops, PID, and scaling parameters.
• Knowledge of cell-based assays, flow cytometry, qPCR, Western blot, ELISA.

Responsibilities

• Carry out upstream vector production to develop/qualify processes for clinical products.
• Order supplies, maintain equipment and space, and prepare media/buffers.
• Train team members as needed.
• Track data communications and progress toward team objectives.
