Legend Biotech in Somerset, NJ is seeking a Senior Scientist, Lentivirus Upstream Process Development to design, execute, and optimize upstream production of lentiviral vectors to support LVV programs and GMP manufacturing.

The successful candidate will apply expertise in HEK293/HEK293T culture, seed train expansion, transient transfection, bioreactor scale-up, and cross‑functional collaboration with CMC and analytical teams to deliver robust, scalable processes.

Qualifications

• Advanced degree in Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, or related field.
• 5–8 years (PhD) or 8+ years (MS) in biotech process development or manufacturing.
• Experience with lentiviral vectors and GMP processes.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute upstream strategies for lentiviral vector production.
• Develop and optimize seed train expansion and transfection protocols.
• Support bioreactor scale-up, process transfer, and troubleshooting.
• Document study results and support regulatory submissions (IND).
• Collaborate with CMC, Analytical Development, and other leads.
