Job summary

Miltenyi Biotec is seeking a Process Development Associate II (Downstream) to advance site‑specific product processes. You will perform downstream operations, prepare materials, and execute experiments under supervision, contributing to method development and documentation.

The role requires a life sciences degree with at least 2 years of experience, strong purification knowledge, and familiarity with AKTA systems and analytical assays. On‑site, full‑time position in Gaithersburg, MD.

Qualifications

• Degree in the life sciences with at least 2 years of relevant experience.
• Scientific understanding of protein purification technologies and learn/apply scale‑up principles.
• Experience with protein and/or viral particle purification methods including cell culture harvest and chromatography.
• Experience with AKTA Systems or similar chromatography systems.
• Prepare solutions required for production and perform lab‑scale experiments.
• Draft and execute SOPs, BPRs with superb documentation.

Responsibilities

• Perform downstream operations independently or with minimal supervision.
• Prepare materials (buffer, packed columns, filters) for downstream activities.
• Execute experiments designed by senior team members.
• Maintain lab notebooks and documentation; contribute to process improvements.
• Train junior teammates and assist in manufacturing documentation.
